[Piracy] SiN: Ep (Not Work Safe)

[ temper on ]

Evidently, this lame-ass pirate group going by the handle of "PROViSiON" decided to dedicate some hours so that episode one of "SiN Episodes" would be what is known as a "0-day warez release." Fucking smacktard pieces of shit.

The game is $20. $20. All this industry has been hearing from fuckers like this is "Oh, drop the price and we won't pirate because we poor people won't have to." So, we self-fund the game entirely, drop the price to something to a level where we stand a chance of breaking even, and what do you know! They pirate our game anyway!

So if you know any members of this "PROViSiON" group, do me a favor...kick them in the fucking nuts and piss on their face. When they ask why, just say, "Well, normally I have to go to a fetish club and spend $20 to do that to someone, but you walked by and I figured, 'What the hell, I'll do it for free.'"

Assholes.

[ temper off ]

By the way, if anyone who downloads the warez version comes to one of the sites and asks for support and I find out that you warezed the game, just be warned that you haven't seen temper yet.

Ten to one, they just used whatever pirate hack they used for "Half-Life 2" for "SiN Episodes"...

Regardless, I just hope I made some lives more miserable. I spent most of last night in-between tech forum posts collecting IP addresses of "leechers" and sending them to ISP's for further investigation.

Getting angry with pirates isn't the best response. Do you get angry when a baby throws food around? They don't know any better and want to get a bit of attention, that's all.

It may not be the best response, but it is a natural response to someone taking food off of your table.

Wow Hazzard, it must take balls of steel to make a temporary account just to post something that brave.

Some people just don't appreciate the hard work of others, and feel entitled to get it for free. Those people probably also suffer from other personality and moral problems... but the people that do appreciate your work will continue to support you.

Good luck.

Being a developer myself, and having been a tester before, I know how you feel. However, I can't say I agree 100%. If all the pirates of the world would go away tomorrow, as if by magic, then no one that can't afford 20$ could play your game. Ever! The price would probably go up, too, but you wouldn't see a proportional increase in salarisation.
Let me be clear, that doesn't make it right, but there are issues that you can't blame entirely on the pirates.
Besides, for a multiplayer internet game it is fairly easy to implement some level of uncrackable consistency check system. Maybe someone higher up considered putting more money into devs in order to curb the loss of money from piracy and decided against it. Then who's to blame?
